Meat Patties with Mashed Potatoes and Peas
A classic, hearty dish featuring tender meat patties served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and sweet green peas. This comforting meal is a family favorite.

Peel and finely chop the onion. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat with the chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, 50 ml of milk, 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.25 tsp black pepper. Mix well until everything is combined.

Form the meat mixture into 8 evenly sized patties. Peel and cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces. Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with water, and add 0.5 tsp salt. Bring to a boil.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the meat patties for 6-8 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Keep them warm.

While the patties are frying, cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes until very tender. Drain the potatoes, add the butter and the remaining 50 ml of milk, and mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat the frozen peas in a small saucepan with a splash of water for 3-5 minutes until tender.

Serve the warm meat patties immediately with the creamy mashed potatoes and sweet green peas.
