Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Open the Mealisto app and tap "Get Started". You can sign in with your Apple ID or Google account — no separate password needed. Your account is created automatically on first sign-in.
How do I set up my household / family?
After signing in, follow the onboarding steps to set up your household. You can add family members, specify dietary preferences and allergies, and choose your cuisine preferences. You can change these settings at any time in the Profile tab.
Can I invite other people to my family group?
Yes. In the Profile tab, tap "Family" and then "Invite Member". Share the generated invite link or code with anyone you want to add. They will join your shared meal plan, shopping list and recipe collection.
Is Mealisto available on Android?
Mealisto is currently available on iOS (iPhone and iPad). An Android version is planned for a future release.
Meal Planning
How does the automatic meal plan work?
Automatic meal planning is a Pro feature. With Pro, Mealisto generates a personalised weekly meal plan based on your family's dietary preferences, allergies, seasonal availability and past ratings. Tap “Generate Plan” on the Today screen to get a fresh plan. You can always swap individual meals by tapping on them.
Can I add my own recipes?
Yes. Tap the + button in the Recipes tab to create a recipe manually, or use the import feature to add a recipe from a URL. Your own recipes are stored privately in your account.
How do I add a meal to the shopping list?
The shopping list is a Pro feature. With Pro, open a meal in your plan and tap “Add to Shopping List”. All ingredients are added automatically. Duplicate items are merged intelligently, and you can check them off as you shop.
Can I plan for a specific number of servings?
Yes. When viewing a recipe or meal detail, you can adjust the number of servings. Ingredient quantities and nutritional values update automatically.
How do I print my weekly menu?
On the Week view, tap the print icon in the top-right corner. A formatted weekly menu will open in your browser or PDF viewer, ready to print or share.
Account & Subscription
What is included in the free plan?
Mealisto's recipe library and family meal planning with attendance tracking are free — forever. A Pro subscription unlocks automatic meal planning, personal nutrition goals, and the smart shopping list.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Profile → Mealisto Pro and follow the in-app purchase flow. Subscriptions are processed securely through the Apple App Store.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store. To cancel, go to your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, find Mealisto, and tap "Cancel Subscription". Your Pro access continues until the end of the billing period.
I subscribed but the app still shows the free plan. What should I do?
Pull down to refresh the app or go to Profile → Mealisto Pro and tap "Restore Purchases". If the issue persists, please contact us at support@mealisto.com.
How do I change my name or dietary preferences?
Open the Profile tab and tap "Edit Profile". You can update your name, language, dietary preferences, allergies and no-go ingredients at any time.
Privacy & Data
What data does Mealisto collect?
We collect only what is necessary to run the service: your sign-in credentials (via Apple or Google), your dietary preferences and meal plans, and anonymised usage analytics. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your data from our servers, including your profile, meal plans, recipes and shopping lists. This action cannot be undone.
Is my data shared with other family members?
Only data that is part of the shared family group is visible to family members: the meal plan, shopping list and shared recipe collection. Your personal profile, account credentials and private recipes are never shared.
