Paneer Butter Masala

A rich and creamy Indian curry with tender paneer cheese cubes in a flavorful tomato and butter sauce. Perfect for a comforting meal.

Steps

1
Cube the paneer. Heat 15g butter in a large pan over medium heat. Lightly fry the paneer cubes until golden brown, then remove them and set aside.
2
In the same pan, add the remaining 35g butter. Sauté the chopped onion until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
3
Stir in the cumin powder, turmeric powder, and chili powder. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, add salt and sugar. Stir well and simmer for 10-12 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
4
Carefully transfer the sauce to a blender and blend until it is completely smooth. Return the smooth sauce to the pan.
5
Stir the heavy cream and garam masala into the sauce. Add the fried paneer cubes and gently mix them in. Simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the paneer to absorb the rich flavors. Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
